Visitor Visas for Australia There are quite a few options for visas for your visit to Australia depending on the length of stay and intended purpose of your visit. Electronic Travel Authorities (ETA) This visa allows people from an eligible country to visit Australia for holiday, sightseeing, to visit relatives or friends, informal studies or training. You are not permitted to work in Australia on this visa. You must be outside Australia when applying for an ETA visa. As an ETA holder, you can stay for up to three months on each visit within a 12 month period from the date of grant. The following is a list of the ETA eligible passports:
This visa allows people to visit Australia for holidays, recreation, visit relatives or friends or study for up to three months. You are not permitted to work in Australia on this visa. You can apply outside Australia or apply within Australia (to extend your current visitor visa). You may be able to stay for up to 6 months or up to 12 months, depending on your circumstances.
