To qualify for Primary or Secondary School Visa, you must be able to satisfy the basic Visa requirements. Primarily the criteria are that you are enrolled in a registered course, you have adequate English language ability, you have the financial means to support yourself and you have appropriate overseas student health insurance cover during your stay in Australia and where you are under 18, to show that there are acceptable arrangements for your accommodation, support and general welfare.

This Visa is designed for students who intend to participate in a primary school course or a secondary school course or an approved secondary school exchange program.

This visa is designed to:

  • allow you to study in Australia
  • have eligible dependant family members accompany you to Australia
  • when you have commenced your course of study in Australia, you can work up to 20 hours per week while your course is in session and unlimited hours during scheduled course breaks.
  • your family members can work up to 20 hours per week provided you have commenced your course of study in Australia.
